What "gluten free" actually means
In the UK and EU, a product can only be labelled "gluten free" if it contains 20 parts per million of gluten or less. That's the legal threshold, and it's the level recognised as safe for people with coeliac disease.
"Naturally gluten free" means a snack is made from ingredients that don't contain gluten in the first place, like nuts, seeds, corn or rice. The same 20ppm rule and the same label checks still apply, because a naturally gluten free recipe can still pick up traces during manufacturing.
A "may contain gluten" or "made in a factory that handles wheat" warning means there's a risk of cross-contamination. If you have coeliac disease, these are the warnings to look out for on the individual pack.
Some products also carry the Crossed Grain symbol from Coeliac UK, which means they've been independently tested and certified. Not every gluten free product carries it, so its absence doesn't mean a product isn't gluten free, only that it hasn't been through that particular certification.
Please check the pack
Snackfully is a retailer, not the manufacturer, and we don't independently test or certify these products ourselves. The gluten free information here follows each brand's own labelling. Many of these snacks also contain other allergens such as nuts, milk or soya. Always check the individual product packaging for the gluten free label, the full allergen advice and any "may contain" warnings before you buy or eat, especially if you have coeliac disease.
