What would you be doing if you didn’t play rugby?

I’d like to be a stuntman or fireman! I can’t sit still for more than 5 minutes!

What is your favourite try of your career?

My first try on my international debut against South Africa

What age did you start playing rugby?

About 11/12

What’s the hardest bit of being a rugby player?

A few things are hard, the training is full on the games are intense! Coming back from injuries is the hardest part, both physically and mentally.

What is your go to pre match meal?

A homemade spaghetti bolognese!

What would you recommend to a young rugby player?

Work on your basic skills, left and right, passing, catching and kicking

Proudest moment of your career?

Playing for the Lions on the 2013 and 2017 tours

How do you include NOCCO in your day to day life?

I like to have a NOCCO before training and before games and the non-caffeinated NOCCO BCAA after.

What’s your max bench?

About 160kg at the moment

How have you been training during lockdown?

I had 10 days completely off when Jak was born, since then I have been running on the pitch, some Wattbike sessions and have a basic gym set up at home to do some core lifts. I’ve been trying to maintain my fitness but also have had time to do more yoga and mobility.

Favourite stadium to play in?

Aviva in Dublin or Stade De France!
